Dear friends,

I know I have been hinting of something big for a while.  The time has come- I've been writing songs for about 18 years. I've been doing the artist thing for at least the past five and getting this album together has been a wild journey.  Thanks to all of the love and support from you, the fans; we are about to take the next step on this amazing journey...

We are planning a benefit concert for the evening of October 10th of this year, and I'm really excited about it!  We're calling this the "Shane Michael Taylor Hometown Salute." It is a few different things: in addition to being a full-fledged concert packed with the new music and songs we all know and love, I’m also going to tell stories (with an interpreter).  I've waited for this moment for a long, long time.  I think we all have....

While this event is about the music, it is also a testament to the message that I've been conveying to the world - that you can do anything you put your mind to, if you just believe in yourself, believe it can happen, and get the right people around you.  I'm also very honored to announce that this concert will be taking place at Hillside Equestrian Meadows, in Wolcott, CT which is the exact place where country music first struck a chord deep withing me as a 12-year-old riding a horse named Brandon.  The fact that I get to return some 20 years later and put on a show as a country artist humbles me beyond words.

To be able to do this to benefit the farm, and everything it stands for, is really, really, really cool. Bucky, the owner of the farm, is an amazing guy. I give him most of the credit for me being where I am today, because he taught me I could do anything I set my mind to in showing me that even a clumsy scrawny kid with severe cerebral palsy can indeed ride a horse.

Bucky now runs an organization that helps young adults who are at risk for giving up their hopes and dreams, and he shows them a new way of life on the farm. Looking back, I was an at-risk kid. Who knows where I’d be if I was not encouraged to get on a horse? Certainly not making this big announcement. I'm very honored to be helping raise money for the farm and the organization.

I know the first thing that comes to your mind is, “How the hell is he going to put on a concert?” Until a few weeks ago, I've been constantly asking myself the same thing! I always joke that I can barely even talk in key. But like I said earlier, if you believe in yourself and you surround yourself with the right people to make it happen, it can happen. We plan to put on a rockin’ show with a full scale video production.

I'm not going to sing. Heck no... Instead I have one of the most talented singers around to do the vocals for me. I'm gonna tell little stories and jokes between the songs. The vocalist is Rachel Ingrassia from Long Island, and we met in college (so we’ve been friends for a long time now). She was the lead singer of a popular band around here called Railroad Salvage, and I had the honor of producing their album right after college. Rachel has a gift of not only a great, powerful voice, but she also puts her heart and soul into what she sings. She’s practically moving mountains to put this show on, which renders me speechless. For her to be willing to lend her voice to my music for the night, that is one of the greatest gifts that I could ask for… It's gonna be a good time. We've got a good set list. She's just gonna rock it out for you guys

I'm calling this “Shane Michael Taylor’s Hometown Salute" because, not only did I discover my dream at the farm, but it's also 10 minutes from where I grew up. Things are starting to pick up with the album, and I'll likely be back in Nashville right after this concert, so I just want to give all of those who have supported me the first experience of the music before the rest of the world hears it all this coming spring.

The farm, production team, and my team are getting the details into place right now. I hear the indoor riding arena holds 700 people, so we're really excited. I'm naturally scared to death because this has never been done before :)  But then again, that’s the way I felt before getting on a horse for the first time. It will be interesting. I’m hoping to bring things full circle and make this a night that I and 700 of my fellow music lovers will never forget (and walk away inspired and charged up about their lives).

We're excited about the forthcoming Warrior Cowboy video that's going to be released as the first single and hopefully get onto the video networks. While this concert is a benefit event, it's also a way to walk with me on the next leg of my journey - I plan to bring a part of every one of you to Nashville with me! This whole thing will be recorded and flown into a mini-documentary that will introduce me to folks at networks like CMT and GAC. When this goes to get added to their playlist, the people who are going to make their decisions are going to be like, "Wow, this guy can really draw a crowd.” To have my own hometown people with me on this next big step with me is pretty awesome!

Details regarding the ticket on-sale date will be coming soon.

I have some thing special for you but you don't get it till just before the concert. Tom is the only person that knows what it is and you can't get it out of him so don't even try. It was his idea to wait until the concert. See you there.
